Safety information

  • The pan gets very hot in the oven. Only touch it with oven gloves or pot holders, set it down on a heat-resistant surface and keep children away until it has cooled down.
  • For the oven only: never put the pan on a hob, over an open flame or in the microwave.
  • Don't cut on the non-stick coating and don't use sharp or metal utensils on it. Wood or silicone are gentle on the coating.
  • Rinse the pan before you bake with it for the first time. Once it has cooled down, clean it by hand with warm water and a soft sponge, without scouring agents. Please don't put it in the dishwasher, that protects the non-stick coating.
  • Springform pan: only the enamel base is dishwasher safe. Please wash the coated ring by hand.

FAQ

Ring Cake Pan: your questions

The ring cake pan is 22 cm in diameter and about 12 cm high, with a tube in the middle. That's the classic size for ring cakes, so many standard recipes fit without converting.
We recommend washing it by hand with warm water and a soft sponge. Dishwasher detergent is aggressive and dulls the non-stick coating over time, and the coating helps your cake release from the ridges.
We recommend it. Brush a thin layer of soft butter into every ridge and dust the pan with flour. It only takes a minute and helps even detailed ridges release cleanly.
Let the cake rest in the pan for about 10 minutes, then turn it onto a wire rack. Too early and it may break, much later and it may stick.
A tube pan usually has straight, smooth sides, while a ring cake pan has a fluted shape. Both have a tube in the center that helps the heat reach the middle of the cake.
Yes, convert by area. From an 18 cm pan, use about 1.5 times the ingredients, from 20 cm about 1.2 times. Always check doneness with a skewer, since baking times change.

What makes this ring cake pan 22 cm special

A tall ring cake with shiny ridges and a glaze running down the sides turns every coffee table into a little celebration. Our ring cake pan 22 cm is made for exactly that moment.

  • Double non-stick coating: inside and out, so your cake releases easily from every ridge.
  • Fluted shape: the classic ridges give your cake its look before you even decorate.
  • Aluminized steel: a sturdy body for even browning.
  • Embossed logo: the Food with Style logo sits on the tube in the middle.

Size, height and how to convert recipes

The ring cake pan 22 cm is about 12 cm high, with a tube in the center. 22 cm is the classic size for ring cakes, so many traditional recipes fit without any maths. The tube helps the heat reach the middle, which is why tall cakes bake through so nicely in this shape.

Your recipe is written for another size? Convert by area. Coming from 20 cm, use about 1.2 times the ingredients, coming from 18 cm about 1.5 times. From a 24 cm pan, use about 0.85 times. Fill the pan about two thirds, so the batter has room to rise.

Ring cakes from our blog to bake next

These recipes feel right at home in a fluted cake pan:

  • Finnish nut wreath: the greased pan is sprinkled with hazelnuts first, so the cake gets a crunchy nut crust. Written for 20 cm, so use about 1.2 times the batter.
  • Poppy seed cake: moist, tender and fresh with lemon. The recipe uses an 18 cm pan, so multiply everything by about 1.5.
  • Marble cake: written for a loaf tin, but chocolate and vanilla swirls look just as lovely in a ring. Check with a skewer a few minutes early.

Non-stick coating and steel, simply explained

The body of the pan is aluminized steel: sturdy and made for even browning. On top sits a double non-stick coating, inside and outside.

Inside, the coating helps your cake let go of every ridge. Outside, it gives the pan a smooth finish that is easy to wipe down. Even so, a fluted pan loves a little care before baking: brush soft butter into all the ridges and dust with flour. That's the simple trick for a cake that turns out in one piece.

Ring cake pan, springform or loaf pan?

The ring cake pan is your choice for tall, airy cakes: marble cake, lemon cake with glaze or a nutty wreath. Discover all ring cake pans in one place.

For cheesecakes and fruit cakes with a soft base, the springform pan 26 cm is the better partner. For banana bread, pound cake and bread, take the loaf pan 30 cm. If you want all three shapes, the Baking Set saves you money compared to buying the pans one by one. More ideas are waiting in our bakeware.

Wash your ring cake pan 22 cm by hand with warm water and a soft sponge. Please don't put it in the dishwasher, that protects the non-stick coating. A soft brush gets into the ridges without scratching. Dry it thoroughly before putting it away.
