Ingredients
- For the Crumble
- For Dusting
Directions
-
1
Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F (top/bottom heat) and line a 6-cup muffin tin with baking paper muffin cups.

-
2
Wash the orange well, finely grate the zest, and squeeze out the juice (about 100 ml / ⅓ cup + 1 tbsp).

-
3
Rub the sugar and grated orange zest together with your fingertips until fragrant and slightly moist - this releases the natural oils.

-
4
Add the egg, oil, milk, orange juice, and vanilla extract to the sugar mixture and mix until combined. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, ground almonds, baking powder, and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir gently until just combined - the batter should stay soft and creamy.

-
5
For the crumble, rub together the butter, flour, sugar, and orange zest until crumbly. Mix in the almond flakes and chopped almonds.

-
6
Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups and top generously with the almond crumble mixture.

-
7
Bake for about 25 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

-
8
Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving. Moist, buttery, and full of fresh orange aroma - with a delicate almond crunch and golden crumble top.
