Spread the batter evenly into the pan and bake for 20–25 minutes. Let cool completely.

Slice the sponge horizontally once.

Whip the cream with the stabilizer until stiff. In a separate bowl, mix the quark (or cream cheese mixture) with powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth, then gently fold in the whipped cream.

Carefully fold the mandarins into the cream.

Spread the cream evenly over the bottom sponge layer and place the top layer on top.
