Ingredients
- - 100 ml milk
- - 50 ml sunflower oil
- - 20 g sugar
- - A pinch of salt
- - 5 g dry yeast
- - 1 egg white (reserve the egg yolk for brushing)
- - 250 g all-purpose flour (Type 405)
- - Chopped hazelnuts for topping
- - Hazelnut cream
- - Powdered sugar
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- In a mixing bowl, combine lukewarm milk, yeast, and sugar. Mix them well together.
- Let the mixture rest for 5 minutes.
- Then add salt, egg white, and sunflower oil, and mix everything together. Finally, gradually add the flour and knead until you have a soft dough.
- Cover the dough and let it rise for at least 40 minutes in a warm place.
- Form 9 small balls from the risen dough, about 50 g each.
- Slightly flatten the balls, spread 1 teaspoon hazelnut cream on them, and seal them back up. Then roll them into balls.
- Using a rolling pin or your palm, flatten the sealed side, and make cuts on half of the balls, shaping them into crescents.
- Place the crescents on a baking sheet and let them rise, covered with a cloth, for 10 minutes.
- Mix a tablespoon of milk with an egg yolk and brush the crescents with it. Sprinkle them with chopped hazelnuts without pressing them down.
- Bake them in the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for approximately 20 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
- After removing the crescents from the oven, cover them with a cloth.
- Finally, you can sprinkle them with powdered sugar.
