- For the Cinnamon Buttercream
Directions
- For Dough
-
1
Cream the butter with the brown and white sugar for 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon, then add to the butter mixture. Mix until just combined - do not overmix.

-
2
Shape the dough into walnut-sized balls.

-
3
Mix the sugars and cinnamon for the cinnamon sugar, then roll the dough balls in the mixture to coat.

- Place the dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between them. Gently flatten each ball. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden. Let the cookies rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely. For Cinnamon Buttercream

-
5
Top the cooled cookies with the cinnamon buttercream. Sprinkle with extra cinnamon sugar or chopped nuts if desired.
