- - 110 g softened butter
- - 1 egg (medium-sized)
- - 50 g powdered sugar
- - 60 g cornstarch
- - 45 g oil
- - 1 level teaspoon baking powder
- - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- - 250 g all-purpose flour (Type 405)
- - Jam for filling
Directions
In a bowl, mix the softened butter, egg, powdered sugar, cornstarch, oil, baking powder, and vanilla extract.
Gradually add the flour and knead into a smooth dough.
Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
Remove the dough from the refrigerator and shape into small balls, about 5 grams per ball.
Each flower consists of one ball in the center and six balls around it.
Press the balls lightly to form a flower.
Use a stick to create flower petals.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan oven).
Make a well in the center of each flower and fill it with jam of your choice.
Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for about 15 minutes until they are lightly golden around the edges. Keep an eye on the cookies during baking as they should remain relatively light in color.
Allow the cookies to cool on the sheet to maintain their shape and firm up.
