Heat the milk in a saucepan until hot but not boiling.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch until smooth.

Slowly pour the hot milk into the egg yolk mixture, stirring constantly.

Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.

Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

Transfer the vanilla custard to a bowl, cover with plastic wrap (placing it directly on the surface of the custard to prevent skin from forming), and let it cool completely.

Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cut the puff pastry into equal-sized squares, about 8 x 8 cm.

Place a dollop of vanilla custard in the center of each square.

Bring the corners of the squares together and lightly pinch to form pockets.

Brush the pockets with a mixture of beaten egg yolk and cream or milk.

Place the pudding pockets on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar and decorate with raspberries and blueberries.
